Englewood man taken to hospital following motorcycle crash in Darke County

A 23-year-old Englewood man was taken to the hospital with injuries Friday night after a motorcycle crash in the 3600 block of West Drive.

A deputy patrolling the Village of Wayne Lakes came upon a crash with an unresponsive driver in a driveway.

The investigation reveals a 2018 Kawasaki Ninja 650, drive by Cameron Lee Walker, was traveling north on West Drive at the intersection of Highland Drive when he failed to negotiate the curve, traveled off the road and struck a guide wire to a utility pole, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office. He was then ejected and landed in the driveway along with the motorcycle.

Walker was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with injuries. He was not wearing a helmet, and speed and alcohol is a suspected factor.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office along with Tri-Village Rescue, New Madison Fire, CareFlight and the accident reconstruction team all responded to the incident that remains under investigation.
