PREBLE COUNTY — UPDATE @ 6:25 PM:
Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the victim in Tuesday’s fatal crash on I-70 in Preble County.
Zachary T. Tyback, 24, of Colony, Kansas was pronounced dead at the scene, and his passenger, Paige M. Taylor, 22, of Indianapolis, Indiana was transported to Kettering Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Tyback failed to maintain a safe distance from the commercial vehicle in front of him striking the rear of the commercial truck and trailer driven by Ellen N. Asaro, 58 of Belleville, Michigan. This caused her to strike the commercial vehicle in front of her driven by Stanimir Miloutinov, 53 of Manitoba, Canada.
The crash still remains under investigation at this time.

I-70 eastbound has reopened according to Indiana State Police.

One person is dead after three-semi crash on I-70, according to Ohio Highway State Patrol.
OSHP confirmed that another person has been taken to Kettering Medical Center.
Eastbound lanes on I-70 are still closed at this time.
INITIAL:
A crash reportedly involving multiple semitrailers has shut down eastbound I-70 in western Preble County Tuesday afternoon, according to initial reports.

State troopers and medics were called to the crash, reported in the eastbound lanes between U.S. 35 and U.S. 127, around noon. As of 2:20 p.m., the highway remained closed.
Initial reports indicate a medical helicopter has been requested to the scene. The number of people injured in the crash, and their conditions, were not immediately known.
