Driver killed in single-vehicle crash in Harrison Twp. identified

HARRISON TWP. — The driver of an SUV was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Webster Street in Harrison Twp. late Monday night, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

Jeffrey Ellison, 44, of Dayton, was killed in the crash, Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger said.

Deputies and fire crews were called to reports of a crash with a person trapped inside around 11:40 p.m. on Webster Street south of Needmore Road.

The driver of a Jeep SUV was pronounced dead at the scene, deputies said in a media release Tuesday morning.

A preliminary investigation found the SUV was traveling south on Webster Street, lost control, and crashed into a utility pole.

Additional details, including potential factors in the crash, were not released.
