Driver escapes crash that resulted with vehicle submerged in Eastwood Lake

RIVERSIDE — UPDATE @ 5:20 PM:

The vehicle has been pulled out of the lake, according to our crews on scene.

INITIAL REPORT:

Dive teams and fire crews are working to remove a vehicle that is submerged in Eastwood Lake after a crash Thursday afternoon.

The incident was first reported as a crash with a water rescue in the area of state Route 4 and Harshman Road around 12:45 p.m.

Crews on the scene said the driver was believed to be the only person inside the vehicle and was able to get out by himself. The driver was transported to an area hospital but their condition was not immediately known.

Additional details were not immediately available.
