Driver sentenced in Clark County crash that killed two teenagers

CLARK COUNTY — Trey Blevins was sentenced to five years of community control Friday, for his role in a 2017 car crash that killed two teenagers.

Blevins faced two felony counts of aggravated vehicular homicide in the deaths of 17-year-old David Waag and 15-year-old Connor Williams.

Blevins eventually pleaded guilty to multiple first degree misdemeanors and the felony charges were dropped.

Authorities accused Blevins of being under the influence when he lost control of a 2005 Toyota Corolla he was driving and crashed into a tree on the side of Wilkerson Road in Greene County.

Authorities said the drug test came back positive but the defense argued that marijuana stays in a person’s system and Blevins did not show any signs of being under the influence at the crash scene.
