1 in custody after SWAT surrounds Shiloh Drive home in Harrison Twp.

HARRISON TWP., Montgomery County — One person is in custody this afternoon after officers from multiple agencies and SWAT surrounded a home on Shiloh Drive.

The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were dispatched to the 400 block of Shiloh around 11:57 p.m. in response to a break-in at the home.

The homeowner had arrived home and located items outside his house that should have been inside, the sheriff’s office said.

According to the sheriff’s office, the homeowner contacted deputies and requested they check the home before to going inside.

When deputies checked the sliding door, a male looked out of the blinds and quickly retreated back inside, the sheriff’s office said.

Officers on scene said the suspect refused to come out. Additional deputies and two K-9 officers from the Dayton Police Department responded to assist in surrounding the home and ordering the suspect out.

The male suspect exited the home and was taken into custody without incident around 1:45 p.m.

The sheriff’s office said the man was transported to the detective section to be interviewed. He was later booked on burglary charges.

Our crew on scene reported that officers temporarily blocked off both Shiloh Drive and Blue Ridge Road near the scene.

The incident remains under investigation by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
