Piqua man identified as victim of deadly Miami County crash

MIAMI COUNTY — The Ohio State Highway Patrol has identified the victim of the deadly crash in Miami County Wednesday.

Justin Dreer, 21 of Piqua, was killed in the crash on County Road 25A, near the I-75 ramp between Piqua and Troy, just after 3:30 p.m. Wednesday.

A preliminary investigation revealed a black 2009 Cadillac DTS was traveling northbound on County Road 25, when the driver turned left onto I-75 northbound and struck a black 2007 Yamaha motorcycle, driven by Dreer, traveling southbound on County Road 25A.

CareFlight was initially put on standby, but was later cancelled.

Dreer was pronounced dead on the scene.

The driver of the Cadillac, Frank Gleason, Jr., 90 of Sidney, had minor injuries.

Troopers from OSHP’s Crash Reconstruction Unit are assisting with the investigation. The Miami County Sheriff’s Office, The Piqua Fire Department, The Ohio Department of Transportation and the Miami County Highway Department assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
