Democratic candidates for Governor reveal running mates

The two Democratic candidates for Ohio Governor in 2022 announced their running mates Wednesday morning.

Former Dayton Mayor Nan Whaley announced Cheryl Stephens, a Cuyahoga County councilmember and CEO of the East Akron Neighbor hood Development Corporation, as her pick for Lt. Governor.

“Ohio has given me so much opportunity, and every kid and family deserves that same chance”, Stephens said. “They deserve their shot at the American dream. I’ve spent my career fighting so that everyone has the opportunity to own a home and so that families can build wealth and leave something behind for their kids.”

Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley announced State Sen. Teresa Fedor will be joining him as his Lt. Governor.

Cranely said Fedor is a leader, who fights for reproductive rights, funding for charter schools and a advocate for human traffic survivors.

The Republican candidates expected to be on the ballot are Mike DeWine and Jon Husted, Jim Renacci and Joe Knopp, and Joe Blystone and Jeremiah Workman.
