Dayton Public Schools ‘highly’ recommending masks for students, staff

DAYTON — Dayton Public Schools is “highly” recommending that all students and staff mask-up after the winter break.

The district posted the announcement on its website Thursday night.

“Due to an increase in sickness in Montgomery County, and the possibility of exposure to illness over the holidays, masks will be highly recommended for all staff and students after Winter Break,” the posting reads.

“This is a precautionary measure that will end on Friday, January 13th. It is recommended that staff members who are returning prior to the end of Winter Break begin wearing masks when they return on Tuesday, January 3rd.”

Students return to school on Wednesday, Jan. 4.
