Dayton Power and Light announces name change to AES Ohio

DAYTON — After over a century as operating as Dayton Power and Light, the company will now be known by a new name.

DP&L is now known as AES Ohio, following a rebranding campaign by the parent company AES.

“After more than a century of delivering power, DP&L was acquired by AES in 2011. Today, we are changing our name to better reflect the global resources, expertise, innovation and technology that we’re able to bring our Miami Valley customers,” an AES Ohio spokesperson said in a social media message.

As of Wednesday, DP&L’s website has been shifted to aes-ohio.com.
