DAYTON — The Dayton Police Department says they have been made aware of a scam involving the department’s non-emergency dispatch number.

In a social media post, the department said their non-emergency dispatch number, (937)-333-2677, was being spoofed to use in scam activity.
The message went on to say that no department personnel will ever call and ask or demand for any kind of money or payment.

Police recommend hanging up if you receive such a call and then report it to the department through the non-emergency dispatch line.
