DAYTON — An eight-week program hosted by Dayton police is looking to help youth cope with trauma.
The program provides 18 children with an “educational outlet” that includes time with officers and other young people who have gone through similar experiences to them, according to a media release.

Activities include a visit to the Boonshoft Museum, therapy at Elliot Stables, archery with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, kayaking and more.
Participants will also be treated to a Dayton Dragons game.
The program was first introduced in 2020 and was developed by Major Brian Johns, commander of the Investigations Division.
