Dayton man in serious condition after car lift breaks, falls on top of him

A Dayton man is listed in serious condition after a car incident occurred on Sunday afternoon, according to a Miami Valley Hospital spokesperson.

Timothy McDaniel, 32, was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with possibly life-threatening injuries after he was working on a car and the lift broke and fell on top of him, according to a police incident report.

Crews were dispatched to the accident in the 1500 block of McClain Street around 3:15 p.m.

When crews arrived, the Dayton Fire Department was already on scene with McDaniel who was out from under the car and breathing but not responding to questions.

Several residents told police they ran over and were able to get the car off of McDaniel after they heard him screaming for help, the report stated.

Medics transported McDaniel to the hospital in an unknown condition at the time of incident, but he is now listed in serious condition.
