Dayton Children’s Hospital updates visitor restrictions

DAYTON — Dayton Children’s Hospital has updated their visitor restrictions in hopes to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

All visitors, adults and children over the age of 2, are required to wear a mask.

Two parents or caregivers are permitted to accompany patients to outpatient appointments, such as clinic visits, testing services, surgery and urgent or emergency care visits. It is recommended that siblings be left at home, but will not be restricted from outpatient visits.

Under the updated restrictions, patients are permitted to have two parents, legal guardian or support persons during the duration of the an impatient stay. Unless an exception is made, visitors under the age of 12 will not be permitted.

All patients and visitors will be screened for wellness and asked about their recent symptoms and exposure to COVID-19. Visitors must be free from fever, cough, cold symptoms, stomach virus symptoms, or COVID-19 symptoms.

If patient is positive for COVID-19 only parents or legal guardians will be permitted to visit and will be restricted to the patient’s room for the duration of the visit.

The updates went into effect Sept. 7.
