1 in custody after high-speed chase through Greene County

UPDATE @ 4:30 p.m.:

Jail records show Robert Benedict, 46, was arrested by the Ohio State Highway Patrol around 1:30 p.m. Friday on U.S. 68.

Benedict was booked in the Greene County Jail on suspicion of failure to comply and 12 point suspension.

FIRST REPORT:

A person is in custody following a chase where speeds are reported to have reached 120 mph, according to emergency dispatch records.

The chase went south on Ohio 235 out of the Fairborn area and onto U.S. 68, where the driver reportedly hit tire deflation devices thrown by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The chase ended around 1 p.m. in the area of U.S. 68 and Jacoby Road.
