Suspect jailed after Revere Ave. stabbing in Dayton

DAYTON — A 30-year-old man is in jail believed to be involved in a stabbing on Revere Avenue on Thanksgiving night.

Jose Cardenas, 30, is booked on preliminary charges of felonious assault and aggravated burglary, records show.

Officers responded around 10 p.m. to the 2600 block of Revere Avenue.

A 9-1-1 caller told police a man banged on his door and said he was stabbed by a neighbor who was beating his girlfriend in another apartment.

“He banged on my door. I’m sitting on my couch. This man told me he got stabbed by the neighbor beating his girlfriend,” the caller told 9-1-1 dispatchers.

The caller was trying to help the stabbing victim.

“He’s got a big ... gash,” the caller said. “Put pressure on it, brother.”

There was not any immediate information on the victim’s condition.
