The festival grants an opportunity for residents to celebrate diversity and features appearances from local businesses. Aaron Clark, Springfield Community Development Department Neighborhood Planning Coordinator, believes that the event provides a valuable service to the city’s community.

“This popular celebration has been a staple of the Springfield community for many years,” said Clark. “CultureFest brings all of what is beautiful… about culture in Springfield into one event.”

This year’s festivities mark a departure from the norm as events will expand beyond City Plaza. Attendees can currently expect to see an international food court, music exhibitions, merchandise vendors, and activities designed for children available for participation.

CultureRead temporarily replaced the CultureFest activities during the pandemic and featured a virtual bookclub to facilitate community discussions.
