CRUISER CAM: Man with history of fleeing from police crashes during high-speed chase

DAYTON — A man accused of causing a crash during a pursuit on Valley Street last month has been indicted on multiple felonies.

Steven E. Hudson, 36, of Dayton, was indicted on failure to comply with order or signal of an officer and two weapons charges in connection to the July 31 encounter with police.

Cruiser camera footage shows video of who police say was Hudson speeding off a Route 4 exit ramp before speeding through Dayton neighborhoods. The video shows the car jumping curbs, running stop signs and speeding around corners before crashing at the intersection of Stanley Avenue and Valley Street.

At the time of the chase, Hudson was wanted for a previous case, where he was accused of fleeing from police on Dec. 27. He had failed to show up for court in the days before the chase on July 31.

Hudson remains in the Montgomery County Jail and he was scheduled for arraignment on the indictment this morning.
