Family displaced after house fire in Dayton

DAYTON — A family is displaced after their home caught fire in Dayton Wednesday evening.

According to Dayton Fire District Chief Adam Landis, fire crews were called to the1900 block of Arlene Avenue just before 7 p.m. on the report of a working fire with a person trapped inside.

When crews arrived on scene, they discovered a well-involved house with heavy fire on the first and second floor, Landis said.

Although neighbors initially reported that they believed someone was inside the house, Landis said the home was unoccupied at the time of the fire.

Landis said crews were able to get the fire knocked down with no injuries reported.

The Red Cross has been contacted to help the family, Landis said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation at this time.
