A preliminary investigation found that as the plane attempted to land, it hit the grass landing and overturned, causing the plane to catch fire, state troopers said.

People at the airport who witnessed the crash helped pull the married couple from the plane as it caught fire.

Both the victims were transported to Soin Medical Center in Beavercreek for treatment of minor injuries, state troopers said.

Additional details were not released.
