TROY — A residential fire in Troy displaced two occupants and caused thousands of dollars in damage Saturday afternoon.

Crews were dispatched to a fire at the 1200 block of Spruce Street just before 4 p.m.

Video from the scene shows heavy smoke coming from a garage behind a house.

Troy Assistant Fire Chief Greg Stanley said that the initial fire was able to be knocked down within 30 minutes of crew’s arrival, but there were challenges that made it difficult to fully extinguish the fire that had spread.
