12-year-old boy shot in leg in Clark County accidental shooting

SPRINGFIELD TWP., Clark County — UPDATE @ 4:55 p.m.:

A 12-year-old boy who was shot in the leg was taken by CareFlight to Dayton Children’s Hospital.

The shooting was reported as accidental, but it’s not clear whether the boy shot himself or another person fired the weapon.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said additional information was expected to be released later this evening.

FIRST REPORT

Crews responded this afternoon to an accidental shooting.

The incident was reported around 4 p.m. in the 900 block of Ogden Road in Springfield Twp.

According to initial reports, a 12-year-old may have suffered a gunshot wound to the leg.

Crews were checking to see whether a CareFlight medical helicopter was able to respond.
