School bus driver treated for injuries after crash with semi on U.S. 35

BEAVERCREEK TWP. — UPDATE @ 12:45 p.m.: 

The driver of a Fairborn City Schools bus was treated on the scene for injuries after being involved in a crash involving a semitrailer on U.S. 35 in Beavercreek Twp.

An initial investigation found two semitrailers traveling east on U.S. 35 ran a red light at the intersection with Trebein Road, state troopers told this news outlet.

The second semi crashed into the bus, which was traveling north from North Valley Road onto Trebein Road. The crash caused significant damage to the front of the bus and sent it off the road and into a field.

One student was on the bus but was not injured, state troopers said, updating initial reports that no students were on board.

The bus driver was evaluated by medics and treated on the scene for a neck injury, but they were not transported to an area hospital.

FIRST REPORT

Fire crews and state troopers have responded to a reported crash involving a school bus and a car on U.S. 35 in Greene County, according to initial reports.

The crash was reported in the eastbound lanes of U.S. 35 near the intersection with Trebein Road around 11:35 a.m.

Initial reports indicate no students were on the bus and no injuries have been reported by either driver.

It was not immediately known if any lanes were blocked on U.S. 35 due to the crash.
