1 taken to hospital with serious injures after motorcycle crash on I-75 near Botkins

A 26-year-old Wapakoneta man suffered serious injuries after his motorcycle struck a deer early Saturday morning on Interstate 75 north near Botkins, according to a sergeant with the Wapakoneta Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The motorcycle was traveling north on I-75 in the right lane going about 70 mph when the driver was ejected after striking a deer crossing the road around 12:56 a.m.

The driver was taken to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries by Anna Rescue and EMS, a sergeant with the highway patrol said.

The man was wearing a helmet and the motorcycle sustained heavy damage from the crash.
