1 killed after rear-end crash in Shelby County

SHELBY COUNTY — UPDATE @ 4:15 p.m.:

The driver of a pickup truck involved in a deadly crash near Sidney Wednesday morning was taken to an area hospital for treatment.

The name and condition of the driver, who is from Sidney, have not been released.

Investigators have not yet identified the 25-year-old fatal victim, who was driving a work truck.

INITIAL REPORT:

One person is dead following a rear-end crash on West Millcreek Road near Sidney Wednesday morning, according to the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash was reported in the 2000 block of West Millcreek Road, near Fair Road, around 7:30 a.m.

Officials said a work truck was attempting to back into a driveway when it was rear-ended by a white pickup truck.

The driver of the white pickup truck was pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the truck that was struck was taken to Wilson Memorial Hospital.

The identity of the victim was not available, pending notification of family.

Deputies blocked West Millcreek Road in both directions for the crash investigation.
