Coroner IDs Dayton man killed in Monday crash

DAYTON — A Dayton man has been identified as the victim in a deadly crash earlier this week.

John Evans, 64, was identified by the Montgomery County Coroner’s Office Wednesday afternoon.

Officers and medics were dispatched to the intersection of E. Third Street and Linden Avenue around 2:31 p.m. on Monday.

A pick-up truck crashed into a telephone pole, according to pictures and video from the scene.

Evans was alone and pronounced dead at the scene, officers told News Center 7.

No other vehicles were involved.

The crash shut down E. Third Street and Linden Avenue in the area of the crash.
