UPDATE: Man killed in crash involving tanker truck in Harrison Twp.

HARRISON TWP. — UPDATE @ 11:47 a.m.:

A man is dead following a crash in Harrison Twp. Thursday morning.

The crash was reported at approximately 7:51 a.m. at the intersection of Needmore Road and Webster Ave.

A tanker truck was traveling west on Needmore Road when it was hit on its passenger side by a box truck that was heading south on Webster Street through the intersection, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.

The crash caused the tanker truck to overturn onto its side.

Both the tanker truck and box truck caught on fire which was put out by the Harrison Twp. Fire Department.

Deputies said the driver of the box truck was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the tanker truck was transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
