Man dead after car crashes into pole in Harrison Twp. Wednesday night

HARRISON TOWNSHIP — One person is dead after a crash in Harrison Township Wednesday night.

Around 9:35 p.m., Harrison Township fire and deputies were called to the 3800 block of Salem Avenue to reports of a car into a pole, according to Montgomery County regional dispatch.

In a release from Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office, investigators say deputies found a 2011 Chrysler 300 crashed in an RTA pole on the east side of the roadway.

Deputies found one man inside the car, and Harrison Township Fire crews worked to get him out.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary investigations showed the car was going south on Salem Ave. at an unknown speed and traveled off the left side of the road, hitting the RTA pole.

When crews arrived on the scene, they reported heavy damage to the car, according to initial scanner traffic.

Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office Forensic Services Unit will continue to look into this crash.
