They are facing a critical shortage of types O and B negative blood, according to a CBC spokesperson.

There are fewer blood drives during the holiday period and the Community Blood Center will be closed Monday for Memorial Day.

CBC is encouraging donations Friday through Sunday at their location at the 300 block of S. Main Street with special hours and donor gifts.

Everyone who registers to donate blood between Friday and Sunday can choose a free Kings Island tick or a $10 Kroger gift card.

All registered donors will also receive a beach towel and be entered in the May drawing to win two tickets to the Taylor Swift concert June 30 at Paycor Stadium.

You can make an appointment by visiting this website, calling (937) 461-3220 or using the Donor Time app.

Donors must be at least 17 years old and required to provide photo identification; that includes their full name.
