A 45-year-old Clearcreek Twp. man was killed in a single-vehicle crash Monday night in Springboro and police said weather and speed may have been factors.
Brandon Byrd died at the scene, in the 300 block of East Central (Ohio 73) at about 8 p.m., the Warren County Coroner's Office said Tuesday afternoon.
Byrd was driving east on 73 when he lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree near Lovely's Farm Market, Springboro police Sgt. Aaron Zimmaro said.
Zimmaro said it's possible that weather and speed may have contributed to the crash. Severe thunderstorms hit the region, bringing heavy rain, high winds, lightning and scattered roadway flooding, roughly from 6 p.m. to about 9 p.m. Monday.
Byrd was the only occupant in the vehicle. No other information about the crash has been released.
