City of Troy’s DORA to go into effect this week

TROY — Troy is preparing to launch their Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area.

In a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA), visitors 21 years old and older are allowed to consume alcoholic beverages outdoors and in participating businesses within the area’s boundaries, during designated hours, and according to DORA rules.

Troy’s DORA is scheduled to launch later this week. It will operate each Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from noon to 10 p.m.

Voters approved the city’s DORA in the November general election. The Miami County Board of Elections certified those results on November 17.

Troy becomes the latest city in the Miami Valley to adopt a DORA. Miamisburg and Piqua are among other cities that also have DORAs.
