City commission honors longest-serving Dayton City Commissioner

DAYTON — The City of Dayton honored the longest-serving Dayton City Commissioner.

Matt Joseph was first elected to the Dayton City Commission in 2004 and is currently serving his sixth term, according to a previous News Center 7 report.

“It’s been an honor to serve Dayton residents for all these years, and I’m proud that things are getting better!” he said on social media. “I look forward to continuing to work with my colleagues and partners to keep the momentum going.”

The city honored Joseph at Wednesday’s City Commission meeting for his 22 years of service.

“Congratulations to Matt Joseph on becoming the longest-serving Dayton City Commissioner,” the city said. “Thank you for your outstanding leadership, unwavering dedication, and years of exceptional service to our community.”

Before being elected to the city commission, Joseph served as Chief Deputy Clerk of Courts for Montgomery County.

He was also a legislative assistant to former Dayton Congressman Tony Hall.
