Chance, the chihuahua thrown from a truck near Troy, has been adopted

UPDATE @ 6:52 a.m. (2/27):

Chance the chihuahua has been adopted, according to an announcement from Miami County Sheriff’s Deputy Sarah Fraley, who helps with the Miami County Animal Shelter.

Fraley said that after taking applications for a few days, Chance has been given a clean bill of health and his forever home was selected.

“We love you Chance and we know you are going to have the best life ever now!!” she wrote.

INITIAL REPORT (2/26):

The Miami County Animal Shelter wants the public to know that applications are now being accepted if you want to adopt Chance, the chihuahua that was thrown from a moving truck near Troy the morning of Feb. 18.

You will have to come to the shelter, 1110 N. County Road 25A, to submit an application.

The facility is open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. all week and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.

Chance was named by the medical staff at the Troy Animal Hospital.

Authorities are still looking for the gray pickup truck that was carrying the dog when it was thrown out on state Route 41, southeast of Troy.
