UPDATE: 2-year-old Miamisburg boy identified as child killed in Miami County golf cart accident

MIAMI COUNTY — UPDATE @ 11:50 a.m.:

Conner Hott, 2, from Miamisburg has been identified as the child killed after a golf cart accident in Miami County Thursday afternoon, according to Montgomery County Coroner Dr. Kent Harshbarger.

Hott’s cause of death remains under investigation, Harshbarger said.

Additional details were not released.

FIRST REPORT

A 2-year-old boy seriously injured following a golf cart accident has died at Children’s Medical Center, deputies said.

Miami County deputies and Pleasant Hill emergency crews arrived to the 1700 block of Stichter Road, where the child had been thrown from the golf cart.

The identity of the child has not been released, pending investigation and further notification of family by the coroner’s office.

The boy’s grandma called 911 for help following the accident.

“The family dog ran into the path of the golf cart at which point the grandfather swerved and braked to avoid hitting the dog,” deputies said in a statement.

The child fell from the golf cart and hit his head on the ground in the area of the driveway.

The investigation remains ongoing.

There is no evidence of alcohol or drug use, deputies said.
