Bridge washed away by heavy rains in Bellbrook reopens

BELLBROOK — The North Belleview Drive bridge in Bellbrook reopened today after being washed away by heavy rains earlier this year.

The bridge north of State Route 725 was washed away during heavy rains on March 20.

According to city officials, 75 percent of the money for the project came as a grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission Emergency Funds, which only had $3.5 million funds available statewide.

“That was a huge win for our little community,” City Manager Melissa Dodd said.

The total cost of the project was $325,000.
