Ashley’s Pastry Shop celebrates 40 years in business; hands out free treats to customers

OAKWOOD — Ashley’s Pastry Shop in Oakwood is celebrating 40 years in business.

Greg and Theresa Hammons opened the bakery on June 15, 1982 to bring delicious treats to the area, according to its website.

The bakery was giving away cupcakes to customers Wednesday, and gift cards to other local businesses to mark the occasion.

“We just wanted to make people aware of the fact that local businesses make the landscape of the Miami Valley strong,” Theresa said.

The bakery is located at 21 Park Avenue in Oakwood and is open 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
