DAYTON — Police records identified the three men taken into custody following a chase that ended on Westbrook Road and is believed to be connected to an incident where two Dayton police detectives were shot at Monday.
Ashley Byrd, 32; Aaron Byrd, 28; and Hassan Stevenson, 31, were booked into the Montgomery County Jail on suspicion of tampering with evidence and failure to comply.
The trio was arrested shortly after a pursuit that started on Gettysburg Avenue in Dayton Monday and ended in the 9900 block of Westbrook Road, when the suspects ran from the vehicle, according to a Dayton police report.
Police have not said whether the three suspects are the only people they were looking for in connection to the shooting incident. It’s also unclear if any of the suspects arrested following the pursuit are believed to be the person responsible for firing at officers.
