Armed robbery reported at Family Dollar in Dayton, customer threw money at suspect, report says

DAYTON — We are hearing reports of an armed robbery at a Family Dollar on North Gettysburg Avenue.

Initial reports indicate a male wearing all black clothes took an unknown amount of money.

Scanner traffic indicates he pointed a gun at a customer, who threw money at him.

The suspect carried a black handgun and was wearing all black clothing, white shoes and a beanie. He also reportedly had a tattoo on his right hand, according to scanner traffic.

The suspect reportedly fled north on North Gettysburg Avenue.

Montgomery County Regional dispatch said that it is unclear at this time whether this robbery is connected to an armed robbery that occurred at Universal 1 Credit Union earlier today.
