Area animal shelter seeking donations after 39 cats rescued from Piqua home

TROY — Miami County Animal Shelter is asking for the public’s help after 39 cats were rescued from a Piqua home.

In a social media post, the shelter said that Piqua Police Department executed a search warrant at a home after a complaint of a large number of cats living in “deplorable conditions.”

Due to the large increase of animals now in their shelter, they are asking for donations of items like clumping cat litter, small litter boxes as well as cash donations for medical expenses.

They are also asking for anyone interested in fostering or adopting a cat to reach out to them.

Those interested in donations can be dropped off items at their shelter at 1110 North County Road 25A or view their Amazon wish list here.
