AMBER Alert suspect arrested in Akron, missing Ohio boy found safe

WAYNE COUNTY — UPDATE @ 4:15 p.m.:

An AMBER alert suspect was arrested in Akron and the abducted 2-year-old boy was found safe.

Akron Police Capt. Michael Miller confirmed to our news partners at WOIO that the suspect was taken into custody around 3:37 p.m.

Investigators found the child safe and unharmed around 3:31 p.m. less than one hour after the alert was issued.

The AMBER Alert was issued after a suspect stole a 2017 black Dodge Ram 1500 from a Dollar General in Wayne County around 2:11 p.m.

Inside the truck was a sleeping child named Sutton Eggeman.

Authorities have not released further information about the suspect or a name.
