6 people seriously hurt in U.S. 35, I-75 interchange crash

DAYTON — Six people, including an infant, were seriously hurt in a crash at the interchange of U.S. 35 east and I-75 Tuesday afternoon, according to a Dayton police report.

The crash closed the eastbound lanes of U.S. 35 and the ramps from both directions of I-75 to U.S. 35 east for just over an hour.

According to the report, a driver was travelling on the ramp from I-75 south to U.S. 35 east when she ran into the back of a car that was stopped waiting to merge onto the highway.

The driver of the car that was rear-ended ended up being cited for driving under suspension and the driver who police said caused the crash was cited for assured clear distance, according to the report.

The driver and passenger of the car that caused the crash was taken to Miami Valley Hospital. The driver and three other people, including the infant, that were in the car that was rear-ended were also taken to Miami Valley Hospital, according to the report.
