5 Carlisle School employees test positive for COVID-19

CARLISLE — Carlisle Local Schools has confirmed that five employees tested positive for the coronavirus.

The district says none of the employees have been inside the school’s facility since Aug. 21.

Additionally, Carlisle Schools confirmed that the cases are not among teachers or students.

Two additional employees have been tested and are awaiting results. Everyone who is considered a high or low risk as a result of being near any of these seven people have been notified, the school stated.

“It appears the employees who tested positive are all likely to have been exposed to COVID-19 when they were together last Thursday, Aug. 20,” read a statement from the school.

Some of the employees experienced symptoms such as a sore throat, fever and shortness of breath while others experienced no symptoms at all.

All seven employees are currently quarantining in their home.

Carlisle is set to return to school Sept. 8.

“The staff is excited to welcome students back to school and the district will continue working on safety and hygiene protocols to protect the health of all,” said Tom Isaacs, Interim Superintendent.
