VANDALIA — The Vandalia Sister Cities Oktoberfest returns today and is expected to be “bigger & better than ever,” according to a news release.

It will take place on the grounds of the Vandalia Recreation Center on the 1,100 block of Stonequarry Road.
“We’ve been working non-stop since last year’s Oktoberfest concluded!” said Dave Starline, Oktoberfest public relation committee. “Our group has put together a nice family-friendly event with lots of great music, arts & crafts, German food, and beverages.”
Among the items on the menu: bratwurst, potato salad, kraut & pork, and Amber Rose cabbage rolls, the release said.
Admission is just $5 each day, and kids ages 12 and under get in for free.
The hours are Friday from 6 p.m. until 12 a.m. and Saturday from 12 p.m. until 12 a.m.
