4 taken to hospital after crash on SR-49 in Greenville

GREENVILLE — Four people were taken to the hospital after a crash on State Route 49 near Greenville Saturday.

Crews were called to a crash at the intersection of US Route 127 and State Route 49 around 12:55 p.m.

Initial investigation revealed that a Nissan Rogue driven by Christine Hinch, 49, of Arcanum was traveling northwest on SR-49 when it had stopped to turn south onto US-127, according to the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.

While stopped Hinch’s car was hit from my behind by a Jeep Wrangler driven by Robert Nave, 23, of New Paris as he was traveling northwest on SR-49.

Nave refused treatment and Hinch was taken to Wayne Healthcare.

Three other people in Hinch’s car were also taken to Wayne Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Nave was issued a citation for failing to maintain an assured clear distance ahead.
