35 coronavirus cases confirmed in Springboro nursing home

SPRINGBORO — Warren County health officials are reporting 35 positive coronavirus cases at Hillspring of Springboro after testing the entire facility in recent days, Warren County Health Commissioner Duane Stansbury said.

Seven of those tests involved people who were not showing any signs or symptoms of the virus, Stansbury said.

A breakdown of employees and residents was not immediately available.

The facility initially reported three cases to the state from tests that came back positive late last week and early this week. Those tests prompted the Warren County Combined Health District and Hillspring of Springboro to test all employees and residents at the location, Stansbury said.

Approximately 250 to 260 tests were administered at the facility, located at 325 E. Central Ave., and results came back from those tests over the last two days. The positivity rate for the facility would be between 13.5 and 14 percent.

Stansbury said Hillspring of Springboro has done everything they should have done in this scenario and even previously had visits from Ohio Department of Health to assist in establishing proper protocol.
