3-year-old shoots 7-year-old sister in head at Cleveland home

CLEVELAND — A 3-year-old younger brother shot his 7-year-old sister in the head in northeast Ohio Wednesday morning.

Cleveland Police responded to a shooting in the 3300 block of East 128th Street shortly before 9 a.m. when a mother called in claiming that her young daughter had been shot, 19 News reported.

As officers arrived, they soon discovered that the young daughter, at 7 years old, had been shot in the head by her 3-year-old baby brother.

Medics immediately responded and transported the girl to Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital where police initially stated she was in stable condition. However, during the treatment, her condition turned for the worst and was changed to critical condition.

Officers began to investigate the shooting to determine how the baby boy obtained the gun and the manner in which it was fired to injure the older sister.

During the investigation, officers were seen outside checking for bullet casings. Furthermore, crime scene detectives were seen analyzing the bullet hole in the house’s window.

Five children were removed from the home as the investigation ensued.

Officers were seen taking evidence bags out of the home.

The Cleveland Police Department led the investigation into the shooting.
