Bahamian man killed in deadly Sidney shooting police say was targeted

SIDNEY — A man from the Bahamas was killed after someone shot him in head through the window of the house, Sidney police said.

Clement J. Smith Jr., 21, was found dead lying on a bed in a bedroom of the house in the 2400 block of Apache Drive around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

“I was on my way here and my friends gave me a call and told me that one of the guys who was staying there just got shot in the head,” a 911 caller said. “Somebody came to the window and shot him in his head.”

Police said they believe the man who was killed was targeted and don’t believe it was a random shooting.

No arrests have been made in the case, according to online records.

The homicide investigation has police now working to identify any family or friends who knew Smith. They hope to speak with them to learn more information, police said.
