13 people killed on Ohio roads this Christmas holiday

A total of 13 people were killed on Ohio roadways this Christmas holiday, according to Ohio State Highway Patrol.

Troopers said that From Dec. 23 at . until 11:59 p.m. Dec. 26, troopers handled seven deadly crashes that killed a total of 13 people.

This includes four killed during a crash on I-75 in Shelby County on Christmas Eve and a 50 vehicles pileup at the Ohio Turnpike that left four dead.

Impairment was a factor in one deadly crash.

Troopers also removed 60 impaired drivers from Ohio’s roads, cited 14 for distracted driving and 21 for drugs.

During last year’s reporting period OSP handheld 10 fatal crashes that killed a total of 10 people.

OSP encourages the public to dial #677 to report dangerous or impaired drivers, as well as drug activity.
