DAYTON — A 74-year-old Dayton woman was killed and two others were seriously hurt in a fire on Broadmoor Drive Thursday morning.

Firefighters responded to the fire in the 1000 block of Broadmoor around 4:45 a.m. and found significant fire showing from the first floor of the home, said Capt. Brad French with the Dayton Fire Department.

There was an initial report that a person was still trapped inside the house, French said.

“Fire crews immediately made entry into the structure to search for occupants and control the fire. Crews located one victim on the first floor with non-survivable injuries,” French said.

The woman who died has been identified as Sharon O’Neal.

One of the people taken to the hospital was listed in critical condition and the other was in serious condition, according to fire investigators.
