1 taken to hospital after rollover crash in Darke Co.

DARKE COUNTY — One woman was taken to the hospital following a rollover crash in Darke County early Saturday morning.

The Darke County Sheriff’s Office sent out a release saying deputies responded to the 2500 block of Hollansburg Richmond Road on a suspicious person walking in the road, just before 1 a.m.

When deputies arrived in the area, they came across a roll-over crash.

Their investigation revealed a black 2006 Jeep Liberty, driven by Maggie Phillips,18, of Hollansburg, was going south on Hollansburg Richmond Road; when she lost control of the jeep.

Phillips drove off the right side of the road and rolled several times before coming to a stop.

Before the deputy’s arrival, Phillips left the scene of the crash but was found shortly after.

Tri Village Rescue took Phillips to Wayne ER for her minor injuries.

The sheriff’s office believes alcohol was a factor in the crash. Charges are pending further investigation.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
